Alcove – Los Feliz
When you travel all across the globe to visit your friends you treat them to a good breakfast! Rick overcame his anxiety to fly and landed in Los Angeles while I was being in Portland to attend The Jungian Society for Scholarly Studies Conference! While the conference was a wonderful experience & place, at Lewis and Clark College, to be, I was glad to return home to Westwood, Los Angeles. I returned around 8:15 pm and waited outside for Arnoud and Rick to pick me up from terminal 2 while blocking a spot for them to park. It was a crowded night at arrivals LAX International Airport. While Rick was making this peacock sound to let me know they were around, Rick grabbed my suitcase and after a quick hug we were off to drive back to the apartment. Rick made an homemade gluten-free & allium free Thai Chicken Soup which was delicious! Hope you come back soon to make me another one! ☀️
The following day, we drove towards this breakfast place called Alcove that Rick found close to the Griffith Observatory. Alcove is located in the beautiful neighborhood of Los Feliz. We chose to sit outside. I went inside to talk to the Gregg and he very kindly explained that they had 100 percent gluten-free options! I took everyone's order and went back inside to see with Gregg what I need to leave to make my dish allium free as well. Rick ordered the Alcove Benedict, Arnoud had the crab toast plus an egg & I had the avocado on delicious gluten-free thin toast with an egg on top accompanied by a white tea. We all very much enjoyed the food and the atmosphere at Alcove and hope to return!
