Gigi – Nice

When in Nice do visit Gigi. They have an amazing dessert! I usually trace the dessert menu for a molten chocolate cake and at this place they had one! I once made this dessert for Peggy and Donny when they came to spend the afternoon with me at my mothers place, they were hooked on the first bite. This became an all time favourite amongst us. The story behind the chocolate lava cake is the best part. This dessert came into being due to an accident. The chocolate muffins were taken out of the oven too early and quickly served hot to the king. The king, picked up his cutlery, took his knife and opened the cake. A stream of hot lava melted on his plate. The chef came to apologize but the king enjoyed this dessert so much it became a staple in his household. To this day the dessert is enjoyed by many and well known across the globe! The best part it is homemade, gluten & lactose-free!
