Sweetfin – Los Angeles
Gluten-free & allium-free!
Across my favourite workplace near the beach is Sweetfin located. A dedicated gluten-free poke bowl shop.
I’ve visited Sweetfin in 2023 -2024, although at a different location, at westwood blvd near campus in westwood village. I thought someone told me this location was closed, which isn’t the case!, but with that thought in mind, you can imagine me being even happier with my discovery of the location of another store at Santa Monica. I was working at the cafe, looked up from my laptop and across the street I saw the name of the shop that I knew, and I was hungry too!
The day of the discovery of the Santa Monica store, I went over to order at the counter. Today, I ordered online to avoid getting allium-(ed)! When you have an additional request, I would suggest ordering online, that works best. For me this place is perfect because everything is gluten-free and you can leave out the scallion base as an option! Most of the ingredients they use are pure and not pre-marinated with garlic.
They have lot’s of different options to choose from! I chose for my base a mix of Yellowfin Tuna & Salmon. You’ll find a screenshot of my order beneath. I finished my day, with a quick bite at the beach, since I was on my bike and I needed to get home before the sunset. At the moment, I have no lights so I can’t bike in the evening. The day before, I needed to race back to avoid the total darkness to befall me. I made it back safely even with my sunglasses on! :)
